Christmas of Wonders (and Shipment Update #4)
over 1 year ago – Wed, Dec 21, 2022 at 11:41:08 PM

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen!

Here is a quick update on the fulfillment status in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the Rest of the World.

After a lengthy sequence of verifications and tests (which lasted an entire month!! ), Hamburg customs finally released the cargo container with the Kickstarter edition of Chamber of Wonders for Europe last Friday. The material was delivered to the fulfillment center today (Wednesday), which has already confirmed the starting of shipments for backers in Europe, the United Kingdom, and RoW.

Shipments are expected to arrive fast, so we are certain that you will be able to enjoy CoW during the Christmas holidays, or at the very least in early 2023.

Fulfillment Europe and Bridge Distribution will immediately begin Deluxe Edition shipments for all areas of the world, which were previously held up by customs delays in Hamburg.

We can confirm that Oceania and North America have been fulfilled. VFI Asia has finished all shipments, but due to the technical time it sometimes takes for products to arrive in specific places, some shipments may still need to arrive at their destination.

Shipment Update #3
over 1 year ago – Thu, Dec 01, 2022 at 04:32:18 AM

Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen!

New Update about the shipment Status! Let's see, area by area, what is the situation of shipments:

OCEANIA: Aetherworks has completed the fulfillment for the backers in this area. Only the Deluxe Edition remains to be delivered.

ASIA: VFI Asia has completed the fulfillment in China, and sorted and shipped the material to the various hubs of other Asian countries. Each hub is going on with its fulfillment and all shipments should be completed by the first half of December 2022.

EUROPE/UK/ROW: the goods are currently stopped at customs clearence. The port authorities have requested additional documents from China to release the goods. We are working to facilitate and speed up the process and everything should be resolved very quickly.

NORTH AMERICA: Bridge Distribution started the fulfillment a few days ago, they expect to finish all shipments within the next week.

We remind you that the Deluxe versions were all packed in Europe directly by e-Raptor (as you know they made all the beautiful wooden components), and shipped respectively to Fulfillment Europe (for deliveries in Europe / Asia / Oceania / Rest of the World) and Bridge Distribution (for North America and Canada).  For this reason we have to wait for the situation with the customs to clear up to start the fulfillment of this product as well.

That's all for now, we will update you promptly as soon as we have new information.

Thanks again everyone for your support and patience!

Shipment Update #2
over 1 year ago – Fri, Nov 04, 2022 at 12:42:48 AM

Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen!

Sorry for the wait, but given the current (still complicated...) status of shipments, we wanted to wait for clear feedback from our partners, in order to update you with reliable information. Let's see immediately, area by area, what is the situation of shipments:

OCEANIA: Aetherworks received its containers in a much shorter time than expected and has already completed the fulfillment for the backers in this area. Only the Deluxe Edition remains to be delivered.

ASIA: VFI Asia has completed the fulfillment in China, and sorted and shipped the material in the various hubs of the other Asian countries. Each hub will begin their fulfillment within 2 weeks, all shipments should be completed by the first half of December 2022.  Only the Deluxe Edition remains to be delivered.

EUROPE/UK/ROW: The BARZAN ship had an ETA set for Hamburg on 18th October (!!), but as you can also see from the vessel finder website, it is clearly behind schedule. Currently DHL has communicated to us a new estimated time of arrival (ETA) on November 13th.

NORTH AMERICA: Also for this area unfortunately we have to report a considerable delay of the ship. COSCO HOPE has a new ETA for the Port of Atlanta set for 11 November (compared to the one scheduled for 03 October ...).

DHL informed us that ship delays in this period have become "normal", given the recent high demand for cargo shipments. We hope this is the last tail of the nightmare period experienced during the last two years with the expeditions, and that we can therefore return to a new normality and regularity.

As an additional note, we inform you that the Deluxe versions were all packed in Europe directly by e-Raptor (as you know they made all the beautiful wooden components), and shipped respectively to Fulfillment Europe (for deliveries in Europe / Asia / Oceania / Rest of the World) and Bridge Distribution (for North America and Canada). Given the delay of the ships for Europe and the US, the fulfillment of the Deluxe versions should coincide with that of the other versions and should finish by December.

That's all for now, we will update you promptly as soon as we have information on the arrival of the ships and the start of the final phase of Fulfillment in Europe and NA.

Thanks again everyone for your support and patience!

Shipment Update!
over 1 year ago – Sun, Sep 11, 2022 at 02:49:32 AM

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen!

We apologize for the delay with which this update arrives, but after the awful recent experiences with freight shipping from China and the way carriers are managing schedule and communication, we wanted to be sure to give you 100% certain information regarding the departure of the ships.

We finally have good news! Here you can find the names of the ships that will transport CoW in the various hub around the world, with a date of departure from China (Actual or Estimated) and an estimate for the arrival at the port (ETA):

North America: COSCO HOPE, ATD: 07 Sep - ETA: Atlanta 03 Oct

Europe/UK/ROW: BARZAN, ETD: 10 Sep - ETA: Hamburg 18 Oct

Oceania: WIDE JULIET, ETD: 11 Sep - ETA: Sydney 25 Sep

Asia: VFI ASIA has already made the goods pick up at the factory and will soon begin fulfillment.

Considering all the operations, you should then receive your Chamber of Wonders between 15 and 30 days after ships arrivals.

As always, we remind you that for any issue with your order, including address changes, you can contact our Customer Service, using this link: LMS SUPPORT CENTER

That is all for now! We will update you as the ships arrive in ports for the start of fulfillment in your area.

Thanks for your support!

Final stage - Shipment!
over 1 year ago – Fri, Aug 05, 2022 at 02:28:36 PM

Hello, Ladies & Gentlemen!

Great news from the factory: Chamber of Wonders assembly has been completely finished!

We are waiting for the confirmation about ships to begin the first phase of the expeditions. As soon as we will receive confirmation from our partners, we will notify you of the names of the ships and estimated arrivals in the different hubs (Europe, USA and Australia).

For direct orders in Asia, we are waiting for feedback from VFI Asia to know the date when they will be able to pick up the goods directly from the factory and start shipping to backers.

On Thursday 4th August, you will receive a notification through BackerKit to confirm the shipping address. Once you have received the notification, you will have 48 hours to make any address changes you need. Keep an eye on your email (including the Spam folder)!

Anyway don't worry, after that it will still be possible to change the address before the last phase of fulfillment begins, we will inform you on how to manage the change directly with us when the ships are about to arrive at the destination ports.

That's all for now!

With this update we want to take the opportunity to share with you some information about the current general situation of boardgames produced through crowdfunding, about our actual and future strategy, and about how we are dealing with the different issues and different projects. We have already shared these information in all our ongoing projects, even if the Chamber of Wonders project is close to the end of its journey on Kickstarter, we think it's important to share those here as well, as we know that supporting a Kickstarter project doesn't mean only buy a nice boardgame, but it means to be active part of a broader picture, living together all the different project stages, and feeling part of a community that shares our same interests and passions.

As we all know by now, it is a difficult moment for boardgame projects on Kickstarter and for those who love to support them, certainly, the most complex period experienced to date.

Many publishers, who operate here on Kickstarter and other crowdfunding platforms, have had and are having problems in the realization and delivery of their projects due to the various global crises that have hit hard, directly or indirectly, the entire boardgame industry in the last two years.

In recent days we have received several messages of concern, many of you have asked us if this situation will also have direct repercussions on the production of our games, possibly leading to further delays in deliveries, or, worse, additional costs due to increases in the prices of raw materials and shipments.

We, therefore, want to give you some more visibility on our current and future strategy, and have a look more in detail at our ongoing projects, to give all of you who support our projects more information and reassure you about the actual situation.

For our major projects, the risks essentially come from two factors, we will analyze both down here.

1. Projects that do not achieve the desired results during Crowdfunding.

We believe it is strategically too risky to entrust the solidity of our business solely to the results of the Crowdfunding platforms. For this reason, over a year ago we started new commercial policies, aimed at establishing long-term strategic partnerships with various publishers around the world, in order to increasingly reduce the risks dictated by factors beyond our direct control. We will continue to include elements in the campaigns that will not be distributed, in this way we aim to always give an excellent value for money ratio to thank those who support us during the crowdfunding campaign.

2. Conditions that change in the time span between the collection of funds and the delivery of the games.

To reduce the lead time (between the end of the campaign and delivery) we have included new people both in the graphic team and in the game design team, changed internal processes, and enhanced playtesting. However, we want to keep the possibility of interacting with you during the creation phase of projects, so we will aim to share information with you and ask for opinions and suggestions well before the start of the Crowdfunding campaigns, so that the journey together is divided into two parts, before and after the Crowdfunding campaign.

To further reduce the risks, it is our standard procedure to proceed to block costs with the factory, paying an advance on future production, in order to avoid unpleasant surprises when starting mass production. Unfortunately, we are unable to implement the same practice for shipments, and it has already happened with projects that have just been delivered or are in the final phase of delivery (D.E.I. and wave 2 of Dungeonology) that the cost differences are therefore over at our expense, going to significantly reduce project margins, but still allow us to manage the situation by avoiding asking you for extra contributions.

It is possible that extra funds may be needed in the future beyond what was budgeted and collected, as game creators we believe that the best way to remedy this is through the creation of new optional products to offer our fans.

A brief mention of the status of the individual projects.

Nova Aetas: Renaissance

It is our most ambitious project, a game with many elements and a strong narrative component, which is taking more time than expected to be able to deliver a solid and high-quality product.

From a production standpoint, we are pleased to inform you that the Kickstarter production has already been paid for in full to the factory. We have chosen to divide the project into two waves, the extra costs will be absorbed by us. The production of NAR Wave 1 will be finalized by the end of the year and includes the Core Box, most of the Stretch Goals, and 4 expansions (Hyperion, The Mediceo, Minotaur, Draco) in the 5 languages provided. Wave 2, which includes the 3 expansions Vesuvio, Under Siege, Catacombs, and the remaining SGs, and will be finalized in the first half of 2023.

Black Rose Wars: Rebirth

The second chapter of our most successful game is in development and testing, as announced we are aiming to ship it by the first half of 2023. With more than 15 new Schools of Magic, and many new Mages and Avatars, the tuning and playtesting for a card game like Rebirth is long but necessary to deliver a game that is both fun and well playable. A first advance payment has been made for Rebirth to fix the production price, and we have already paid in full for all steel molds for miniatures.

The Breach

Our latest project, the campaign ended just over a month ago, at the moment we are working on its development. In September the production of the steel molds for the miniatures will start, we are now closing the final agreements on the production costs, in order to block the costs before the end of August. This is one of the first projects to have received much greater processing before the Crowdfunding campaign, also given the more "compact" nature of this project, we aim to respect the delivery times given during the Kickstarter campaign and deliver all the material within the summer of 2023.

Projects in Fulfillment

In addition to the 3 projects we have just talked about, Divide et Impera and Wave 2 of Dungeonology are currently in the final phase of delivery, by August the shipments of Chambers of Wonders, the second game of our Lite line will begin. These 3 projects have suffered significant delays for various causes, both dependent and independent of us, but after so many vicissitudes we are proud and happy to bring them to our backers' tables.

We hope that this information can reassure all our backers of the work we are doing, on the commitment and passion with which we are carrying out our projects!

That's all for now! As always, thank you for your support and love!
